Journal 2 Philosophy

This article talked about how everyone has their own way of thinking and can be a philosopher. However, people can also judge each other and create conflict or they can agree and make their thoughts more profound. It talks about when knowing yourself and knowing history, you can make a stronger view on what you believe. Knowing only one language limits your view to one aspect of the world. Using education can make people's view unite to believe in a common idea.  There becomes a distinction between higher intellectuals and simple souls, or the common people. It's like a from of intellectual control. I think this is where there is a division between the masses and the higher elites. Using politics allows the higher elites to create power and keep the division. This relates to the idea of the popular culture and the high culture. There is that divide between the two groups.
